QSC Nominated for Three 2018 TEC Awards for Outstanding Technical Achievement
Award Nominations Recognize TouchMix-30 Pro Compact Digital Mixer, K.2 Series Loudspeakers and Q-SYS™ Core 510i Processor
Costa Mesa, CA (September, 2017) – QSC, LLC is proud to announce that it has been nominated for three individual 2018 Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards for outstanding technical achievement in product design, innovation and production for its TouchMix-30 Pro compact digital mixer, K.2 Series Loudspeakers and Q-SYS™ Core 510i Integrated processor. Presented annually by the NAMM Foundation at The NAMM Show, the NAMM TEC Awards recognizes the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and other media.

Nominated for innovation in Small Format Console Technology, TouchMix is simply the most powerful, small-format digital mixer series ever created. The highest channel-count model in the TouchMix line, the 32-input TouchMix-30 Pro uniquely offers the features, capabilities and sound quality of world renowned large format consoles in a package that’s small enough to be carry-on luggage. Perfect for musicians, bands, AV production professionals and small performance venues, TouchMix also goes "Beyond Mixing" by offering Wizards, Presets and other beneficial tools that help seasoned audio professionals and novices alike get great results quickly and easily. Its capabilities in a recording environment are unparalleled in its ability to offer 32x32 channels of premium-quality DAW interface at an extraordinarily accessible price point. Additionally, direct to USB drive recording makes it easy to capture every live performance to multi-track without the need for a computer. The touch-and-turn interface of TouchMix allows for tactile, hardware control over fader levels and other parameters. Mixer functions and displays may be duplicated on iOS or Android devices over Wi-Fi, providing complete remote operation or limited personal monitor mix control.
Nominated in the category of Sound Reinforcement loudspeakers, The K.2 Series represents the next generation of the company’s global best-selling K Family line of powered loudspeakers. Comprised of the 8-inch K8.2, 10-inch K10.2 and 12-inch K12.2 full-range loudspeakers, the K.2 Series offers a number of significant feature upgrades, establishing an entirely new standard in powered loudspeaker technology. Each model is equipped with a 2000-watt power module carefully matched to high-performance woofers and compression drivers. DMT™ (Directivity-Matched Transition) ensures smooth coverage across the entire listening area and on-board DSP provides Intrinsic Correction™ voicing and advanced system management to further optimize performance. Superbly flexible, K.2 Series models additionally provide operators with a library of preset contours for common applications and offer storable Scenes to recall user-configurable settings such as input type, delay, EQ, cross-over and selected contour via the loudspeakers’ LCD screen and control panel. All three models can be operated as either main PA or as a floor monitor, and can be flown, wall- or truss-mounted, or placed on a speaker pole.
Nominated for innovation in the category of Signal Processing Hardware, the Q-SYS™ Core 510i Integrated processor is the latest evolution of the Q-SYS Platform, leveraging the latest Intel™ hardware using a QSC-developed Linux™ realtime operating system (RTOS) to deliver the most powerful audio, video and control (AV&C) solution available. The Core 510i processor offers the most flexible audio I/O configuration options of any processor in the Q-SYS catalog, with card-based I/O as well as native Q-LAN network channel and AES67 capabilities. Core 510i can be configured in the software as an AVC processor or as an I/O expansion peripheral, supporting up to 128x128 additional channels for a separate Q-SYS Core processor. It is ideal for applications that require a diverse mixture of analog, digital and networked audio connectivity, including mid- to large-sized meeting spaces and hospitality applications.

Held during The NAMM Show in Anaheim each year, The NAMM TEC Awards are the “Oscars” of the pro audio and sound recording industry. It’s where the most outstanding products in the worlds of music making, live performances, video games, television and films are recognized and where creative luminaries are celebrated for their musical contributions. TEC Awards nominations are made by a panel of industry professionals and voted upon by members of various professional organizations and audio industry websites. Nominees are selected in 31 categories: Technical Achievement (23 categories) and Creative Achievement (8 categories). Eligible nominees are those projects or products that represent superior accomplishment in their respective fields. The nomination announcements follow a two-month call for entries of standout technical and creative products and projects that have made a significant impact on modern sound and music. A panel of respected industry voters from pro audio publications as well as members of professional music, technical and creative organizations, along with select NAMM members carefully evaluated each entry before selecting the nominees. The winners’ will be announced at the during The NAMM Show on Saturday, January 27 in Anaheim, California.
